Theories of Narrative

While I was trying to summarize the 4 sections of this chapter, I realized the one thing common to the three sections is the use of narratives in a game. Eric Zimmerman, belives that there exists a narrative in a game and goes on to provide definations for it (P. 156-157). Celia Pearce, believes that narratives in a game operate at a different level in a game, when compared to other media and identifies six different narratives (P. 145). Henry Jenkins believes that "computer games are not narratives... Rather the narrative tends to isolate from or even work againest the computer-game-ness of the game. What are your thoughts on narratives in games?
