The idea of contextualization for AI design really differentiates from classical approach. People are social animals. In order to mimic human beings thoroughly, social context is the setting which can not be ignored.

Nevertheless, Phoebe Sengers suggested narrative agent architecture can be used to interpret intentional behavior. I am curious about that if we can equate life to narratives. Life is more complex than narratives. Stories can only represent some parts of real life. For the future development of AI, maybe more elaborative theories will be necessary as the fundamental framework.

Given the linearity of video games (yes, even The Sims is a linear experience to me even if different things are happening under the same roof), I would also agree the life is definitely more complex than any kind of AI. Add the notion of agency to that, and we now have a whole new ball of wax to deal with. Multiplayer games are trying to break this barrier of linearity, but they are still not at a stage where different realities in different places can be woven into one narrative. Not yet, but soon.
