Unlike the traditional drama or movies, the interactive drama introduced by Michael Mateas seems to be played individually only. For example, even though “Façade” can be played repeatedly, it is allowed the participation one time per person. The interaction in such kind of drama seems to be related to an individual, which is unlike the notion discussed in the “Happenings” in “The New Media Reader”. In the Happenings, all the audiences will be asked to participate in the performance, which is more interactive conceptually.

I have same feeling with Curt. In Mateas's article, it provided a good theoretical framework for the development of interactive drama. And the facade is an innovative product, which doesn't allow concurrent users to interact with each other. In comparison with the traditional film watching expereinces, the automosphere in a theater is created by all the audiences. The audiences laugh, scream or cry when wathcing a movie in the theater. That climate is a kind of subtle feelings in which an individual interaction can not make it.
